James Shannon,  Co-Founder & CTO

James has extensive knowledge and commercial experience in internet security, cloud infrastructure and smartphone application development. A background in server-side application development and enterprise integration as Technical Director at DBT has also allowed the DevelopIQ technical team to integrate innovative mobile services into the world's leading enterprise environments.

He also performs an active advisory role to mobile manufacturers through early device trials, beta programmes and advisory councils to ensure that our manufacturer partners not only have the most relevant customer use cases but may also be easily secured, integrated and deployed in conjunction with custom applications.

James now provides strategic consultancy to our customers in addition to building out a world-class, cross-platform mobile security, development and support team to deliver and support the next generation of smartphone and tablet applications.

Robert Bakewell,  Co-Founder & CEO

Prior to founding DevelopIQ with James, Robert worked for 7 years as Managing Director of DBT, a database and Internet solutions business, building it into one of the UK's leading providers to the corporate sector. Robert has a strong enterprise pedigree having worked in North America and Europe with some of the world's most innovative companies including; Barclays, Bayer, Calor, Merial, Syngenta, Dow Chemical, BASF, Lowe Alpine, Schering-Plough and Pfizer.

Before joining DBT, Robert worked for 13 years in the international chemical industry, firstly in sales and marketing management for the American corporation Dow Chemicals and then for the Japanese multinational Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha, where he was General Manager for the UK, Ireland and the Nordic countries.

As CEO, Robert leads the sales, marketing and project delivery areas of DevelopIQ and is passionate about ensuring that our customer experience always exceeds expectations.
