<p>Following several months working in close partnership with Anoto
AB, DevelopIQ are proud to announce that it is the first digital
pen partner in Europe to announce support for 256 bit AES
encryption of handwriting data stored in digital pens.</p>

<p>DevelopIQ's digital pen platform, PaperIQ Enterprise Server, has
been successfully deployed for some of the largest digital pen
contracts in Europe, with particular focus on the NHS, security
services, local and central government. Commenting on this
achievement for DevelopIQ, Robert Bakewell, CEO, said "Recently
some of our customers, particularly NHS Trusts concerned with the
security of sensitive patient data, have insisted on full
encryption of handwriting data within the digital pen before they
will sanction wider deployments. We have therefore worked very hard
to build support for encryption into our PaperIQ digital pen
platform and we are proud to be the first Anoto Solution Provider
to offer this capability in the European market and only the second
one to achieve it worldwide."</p>

<p>Support for digital pen encryption in PaperIQ Enterprise Server
has been developed to facilitate easy implementation by
organisations with a small or large deployment of digital pens via
a simple digital pen firmware upgrade and change of the Anoto dot
pattern. Each digital pen is flashed with an organisation's unique
public encryption key and a digital pen specific signing key. The
public encryption key is used in conjunction with a symmetric
session key to store the encrypted pen strokes and the private
signing key is used to digitally sign the data prior to
transmission to the server. PaperIQ Enterprise Server then uses the
digital pen's public signing key to validate the digital pen data
on receipt, prior to decryption of the symmetric session key and
the captured digital pen data using the organisation's private
encryption key. This combination of AES encryption and RSA digital
signatures ensures not only the privacy of the digital pen data but
also the authenticity of the digital pen from which it was
transmitted to the server.</p>

<p>The latest release of PaperIQ Enterprise Server incorporating
support for digital pen encryption is expected to be released next
month.</p>

<p>Despite challenging weather conditions, gruelling terrain and
continuous walking through the night, the DevelopIQ Trailwalker
team&nbsp;completed the UK's most inspiring team challenge this
year - to walk 100km in 30 hours with the Gurkhas in aid of Oxfam
and the Gurkha Welfare Trust.</p>

<p>The team completed the course, which followed the South Downs
Way from Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield to Brighton
race course, in 29 hours 11 minutes - a significant achievement
given the weekend's unexpectedly wet weather.</p>

<p>The team not only comprised 4 walkers, but also a committed
support crew that fought the mud and met the team at each of the 10
checkpoints to provide shelter, food, fresh socks, blister plasters
and even massages to the weary trekkers.</p>

<p>Many thanks to all involved in this memorable event and
especially to all the friends, family, customers, suppliers and
partners who helped the team raise over £1,750 in sponsorship for
the two charities, helping the event as a whole raise over £1m.</p>

<p>DevelopIQ has scooped yet another award for its work with
Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. The TechWorld Award for Mobile
Working Project of the Year was awarded to DevelopIQ at an evening
awards ceremony in the Central London on June
29th.<br />
 &nbsp;<br />
The Trust's midwives use Digital Pen and Paper technology combined
with BlackBerry smartphones to take notes during consultations with
expectant mothers out in the community - a simple solution that has
helped the trust create a projected annual saving of £220,000. The
midwives use the Digital Pen to fill out the patients' maternity
notes, which are then automatically updated on the maternity unit's
digital patient records system.</p>

<p>Commenting on the award, Robert Bakewell, CEO, said "We are
thrilled by the recognition and high profile that Portsmouth
Hospitals NHS Trust has had for the digital pen solution we
designed and implemented for their midwifery team. We are working
hard to extend the very significant cost savings generated by
Portsmouth to maternity teams across the wider NHS and this latest
award from TechWorld will only help to maintain the momentum of
this initiative. Thank you to all at TechWorld".</p>

<p>DevelopIQ are delighted to announce the integration of the
PaperIQ digital pen platform with NDL's ground-breaking BlackBerry
application, "Care in Motion".&nbsp; Designed to reduce and
simplify the administration of delivering care in the community,
"Care in Motion" saves time &amp; money, frees up front-line care
time and improves field-based data collection.</p>

<p>This new integration now ensures that forms completed with an
Anoto digital pen during a patient visit are always linked to the
"Care in Motion" visit information and that processed digital pen
forms and associated data can be held against the right patient
record in the main back-end Patient Administration System.</p>

<p>Commenting on the launch for NDL, Declan Grogan, Managing
Director said "There is a very significant demand for Anoto digital
pen technology in the NHS right now and particularly for community
healthcare. We are delighted to announce this exclusive arrangement
to provide tight integration between the PaperIQ digital pen and
the "Care In Motion" application on BlackBerry".</p>

<p>Robert Bakewell, CEO at DevelopIQ said "right now simple yet
effective mobile applications that free time to care are in high
demand across the NHS. Scheduling patient visits and effective
capture of patient data are top of the list for requested
applications and we are very excited and optimistic about the
prospects our partnership with NDL.</p>

<p><img src="/media/6731/infoageaward.jpg" width="179" height="52" alt="Info Age Award"/></p>

<p>&nbsp;In 2009, <em>Information Age</em> launched its Innovation
Awards to highlight some of the more innovative uses of technology
developed by IT suppliers. Visitors to www.information-age.com were
invited to vote on video submissions from shortlisted companies and
the awards go to those products, projects or services that visitors
to the site consider to be the most innovative.</p>

<p>This year'sInformation Age Innovation Award for business
applications has been awarded to Research In Motion, manufacturers
of BlackBerry, and DevelopIQ for a solution that enables the
midwives at Portsmouth Hospitals to complete their paper work
efficiently - freeing up time to care.</p>

<p>Midwives were expected to capture data on traditional paper
forms then transcribe this information into the expectant mother's
maternity records. To reduce this duplication of effort, without
entirely disrupting the way the midwives were used to working, the
Trust chose to deploy a system that combined BlackBerry
smartphones, Anoto digital pen technology and the PaperIQ digital
pen platform from DevelopIQ.</p>

<p>Daniel Morrison-Gardiner, Healthcare Director at Research In
Motion, says the combination of BlackBerry and Anoto digital pen
allows midwives to spend more time with mothers-to-be and their
families. "That time is also now better quality, because they've
got access to all the information they need and the ability to
collect and transmit information securely in real time from
wherever they are."</p>

<p>Morrison-Gardiner says that the midwives have found other ways
in which a BlackBerry can aid them in their day-to-day work. These
include using GPS to optimise routes to the homes they visit,
communicating securely with co-workers on BlackBerry Messenger and
synchronising appointments via a shared calendar. "They've very
quickly got accustomed to the technology and taken to using it in
areas that we didn't necessarily think would be in the original
scope."</p>

<p>He says that in the first year of using the devices, the Trust
expects to have saved more than £220,000 in administrative and
petrol costs. However, Morrison-Gardiner believes that the greatest
benefit brought by the project is the improved experience for the
patient: "These are healthcare workers experienced in dealing with
expectant mothers and their families - this technology allows them
more time to do that".</p>

<p>Commenting on the award on behalf of DevelopIQ, Richard Sargent,
Project Delivery Director, said "This solution has won several
major industry awards, but each one is a huge thrill for our team
and for our customer - the midwives at Portsmouth. We would like to
thank all those that took time to view the case study videos on the
Information Age website and for giving this solution their
vote".</p>

<p>As part of DevelopIQ's plan to become the leading provider of
managed smartphone services in the UK, the company is delighted to
announce that it has attracted some of the very best talent in the
mobile sector as team leads for DevelopIQ's new services.</p>

<p>Richard Sargent joins DevelopIQ as Project Delivery Director.
Richard is an extremely experienced project manager and a qualified
ITIL V2 &amp;V3 &amp; PRINCE2® Practitioner. Richard
joins from Portsmouth NHS Hospitals Trust where he worked in IT
Services. More recently he was responsible for rolling out a
digital pen solution on BlackBerry supplied by DevelopIQ which has
won several industry awards. Richard has a very strong network
across the NHS and in addition to managing the quality of
DevelopIQ's project management processes he will be very involved
with delivery of mobile data collection solutions to the company's
many NHS customers.</p>

<p>Daniel Noakes joins DevelopIQ as Infrastructure Solutions
Architect and will lead DevelopIQ's Cloud Services team. Daniel
joins us from Cobweb Solutions where he built and managed the
largest multi-tenant Microsoft Exchange and BlackBerry Enterprise
messaging infrastructure in Europe. Daniel is a well respected
expert in hosted messaging and collaboration and therefore adds a
new dimension to DevelopIQ's existing experience in managing
secure, business-critical cloud services.</p>

<p>Tim Dinsmore will lead Customer Support and Tim joins from
Lan2Lan where he managed a large customer support team. Tim is

of our customer support team.</p>

<p>These new hires come on board as part of a significant capital
investment in new systems and a new office in Basingstoke which the
business will move to in March 2011. "For us finding people with
great experience, a passion for mobile and personalities that fit
well with our existing team and customers is one of the hardest
challenges. It is therefore really exciting when you discover and
attract staff with the calibre of Daniel, Richard &amp; Tim. We
wish them all the very best at DevelopIQ where I am confident they
will flourish", commented Robert Bakewell, Co-founder &amp;
CEO.</p>

<p>DevelopIQ is delighted to announce an exclusive partnership with
Guardian24, a leading UK supplier of Lone Worker Personal Safety
Solutions, with a client base of over 340 public and private
organisations.</p>

<p>Under this agreement, DevelopIQ will integrate its award winning
digital pen solution, branded "PaperIQ" with the mobile version of
the Guardian24 Lone Worker Support application via the BlackBerry®
Smartphone. This new integrated solution will enable any mobile
worker to trigger a lone worker alert by ticking the Guardian24
alert box printed on a paper form with their digital pen, rather
than reaching for their mobile device.</p>

<p>Once triggered by the digital pen, the Guardian24 application on
the BlackBerry® opens a communications channel with security
services or nominated respondents, relaying live audio and
providing up to date details about the user and their GPS location
so that appropriate assistance can be sent. This information is
invaluable if emergency services need to be notified.</p>

<p>The Guardian24 and PaperIQ solution has been developed in close
partnership with the ICT team at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust,
where it was deployed to their midwifery team. Richard Sargent,
Digital Pen Project Lead at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, said
"This discrete solution has been extremely well received by our
community midwives who often have their BlackBerry® smartphones in
their bag and not readily to hand. The fact that they can now
trigger a lone worker alert with two strokes of their digital pen
gives them much greater comfort for their community visits".</p>

<p>Geoff Hayter Strategic Channel partner Director for Guardian24
said " This is a very significant partnership that will enable
Public Sector organisations to use state of the art technology
providing multiple value added applications and still demonstrate
significant savings rather than cost. The application that
Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust have already deployed has
demonstrated savings of £220,000 over a 9 month period."</p>

<p>He continues: "The addition of the Guardian24 Lone worker
application enhances the present DevelopIQ application and provides
a British Standard 8484 compliant covert solution that is easy to
use, all from one device."</p>

<p>Both DevelopIQ and Guardian24 see great potential for sales of
this new solution to their respective clients, and plan to offer
support for other mobile platforms in the near future. Speaking on
completion of the partnership agreement with Guardian24, Robert
Bakewell, Commercial Director for DevelopIQ, said "this integration
of two separate BlackBerry® applications is a great demonstration
of the synergies that are possible when BlackBerry® partners work
closely together and is a significant step in our aim to offer the
healthcare sector compelling mobile applications for productivity
and security".</p>

<p>The Guardian24 &amp; PaperIQ solution will be available at the
end of July on the BlackBerry® smartphone. Both DevelopIQ and
Guardian24 plan to offer support for other mobile platforms in the
near future.</p>
